Mark Mathews, Head Coach of the Peru State softball team, passed away on December 24. Through his 24 seasons as head coach, his teams had won 584 games, which is over 70% of all of the wins in Bobcat softball history. His full obituary is here:

The Peru State Men’s Basketball team won its Heart of America Athletic Conference Quarterfinal Matchup against number 7th seed Graceland, on Thursday night. Final score was 78-56. Peru State Bobcats move on to the Semifinals and will host third seed Evangel, Saturday February 25

The TJ Majors hall was built in 1917 and named after the founding father of Peru State. It even served as a public grade school until 1967.

The School of Education at Peru State College is proud to announce the launch of its innovative Teaching Experience Learning Lab (TELL), a creative classroom space designed to enhance teacher candidates' skills and abilities using research-based instructional practices.
The Peru State Phi Beta Lambda chapter brought home 15 national awards including 13 top ten trophies. Of the 17 students representing Peru State, 16 placed in the top ten.

Board of Trustees of the Nebraska State Colleges approved two new graduate degree programs. Two new programs are included as focus areas in the Master of Science in Organizational Management (MSOM) degree:
• Strategic Leadership and Communication
• Healthcare Administration
Joy Scanlan and her husband had no boys, just their own volleyball team. All five daughters grew up playing, and now officiating seems to run in the family.
That makes cheering for just one team on Wednesday difficult.

Nebraska’s Toughest Mile (NTM) competition will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023. The race, organized by Peru State’s cross-country coach, James Cole, and the Bobcat cross-country team, will start at 9:00 a.m. in one of Nebraska’s hilliest small towns, Peru.
