Wait for it! 😯 . Numbat mums don’t have a pouch, the joeys cling to her belly as she munches 20,000 termites a day! We're proud to be the only zoo breeding numbats and have released 321 into the wild since 1993. Every joey matters!

Today, we still care for three of these rescued tortoises; Mavo, Azy and Lasa, and we’re so glad to provide them with a safe loving home that closely mimics what they should have had in the wild 💚.

The group were being smuggled internationally but thankfully were stopped in Hong Kong. As experts in breeding and caring for this rare tortoise, the 14 animals were brought into the safe haven of Perth Zoo before moving on to other zoos around Australia.
