#FirePreventionWeek Safety Tip: Charging an e-bike, scooter, or power tool with a lithium-ion battery? Charge it outside on a flat, dry surface—away from sunlight, moisture, kids, and anything you could trip over. Make sure the device is stable and won’t tip over while charging.

#FirePreventionWeek tip: Always charge lithium-ion battery devices on a firm, flat surface—never on soft surfaces like your bed, couch or under a pillow. Avoid overcharging; once the battery reaches 100%, unplug it and go about your day.

#FirePreventionWeek safety tip: Before buying anything with a lithium-ion battery, check for a mark from a nationally recognized testing lab. Without it, you could be at greater risk of fire. Many products sold online don't meet safety standards. #BatterySafety

#FirePreventionWeek safety tip: Devices with lithium-ion batteries—such as phones, laptops, e-bikes and power tools—can pose a fire risk if not charged properly. Use only original or manufacturer approved chargers. Replace cables that only work when bent a certain way.

Please stay off the west side of the multiuse path from Rt. 25 to Maumee as well as the Riverwalk from Orleans Park to Fort Meigs. They are setting up fireworks and need that area to be clear of pedestrians. You CAN use the path/sidewalk on the east side of the road.
