Normally I wouldn't make a big deal about something like this but it's rich to see someone like The Rock suddenly clutching a pearl necklace about the integrity of *acting* when everything he's been in is utter slop.

"Hollywood has become about box-office" . DAWG WHAT DID YOU THINK HOLLYWOOD WAS ABOUT BEFOREHAND?!?.
Dwayne Johnson says he felt "pigeonholed" by the industry before signing on βTHE SMASHING MACHINEβ. "Hollywood has become about box-office. Chasing that can push you into a corner. I understood that, and I made those movies, and I liked them. Some did really well, some not so

As much as I enjoy weather that isn't clear and sunny skies, sitting in a pitch black apartment solely illuminated by my laptop's screen isn't exactly what I would describe as a good time.

Power has been flickering on and off for about a dozen times tonight. Just when I think it's back for good, it goes down again. Some of the outages lasted barely a second while others have been over ten minutes. My current outage has also been the longest (40+ minutes).

Aguilar is being held on a $500,000 cash-only bond. It's not immediately clear which jail in which he's incarcerated. Juveniles age 15 and older who are charged with murder are required under Arizona law to be charged as adults. His next hearing is on Aug. 26.

The documents say Aguilar talked about murdering 16-year-old Michael Montoya II and claimed Montoya stole a firearm from him. A girl told police that Aguilar, who normally sat behind her, sat next to Montoya instead and punched him before stabbing him three times.

Iβve seen precious few media rebrands worse than this. Might as well be Multiple Sclerosis NOW.
As the cable news channel MSNBC splits up with NBC News, it is also dropping the "NBC" from its name: Later this year, it will become MS NOW, which stands for My Source for News, Opinion, and the World.

My hope looking forward is that this round of voluntary buyouts satisfies whatever cost-saving measures Gannett sought and that I β along with my colleagues β can continue pursuing leads without worry of intrusion.

I would dare anyone to say they possessed the same integral experience as @maryjpitzl or the editorial command of @ejmontini and @LaurieRoberts. But, at the end of the day, they have lives to live and (hopefully) retirement to enjoy.

This is probably beside the point but describing the exodus of staffers taking voluntary buyouts at The Republic as a "bloodbath" is a tad hyperbolic. Is it unfortunate to lose a wealth of institutional knowledge? Absolutely.
