"Early marriages, forced marriages and teenage pregnancies are the main factors depriving the rights of girl children [in Malawi]". @UNICEFMalawi were so proud of Janet during the UN@80 stakeholders dialogue today 👏.
At the Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue, 14-year-old Janet Kazembe delivered a powerful message: “Global leaders must put youth in the driving seat. We are the leaders of today, & we are ready to solve the development challenges we face.” Malawi’s young voices are leading the way

On #WorldChildrenDay, let’s go beyond a one-day celebration. Every day — as leaders, parents, social workers, and citizens — we must work for a #Malawi where every #child doesn’t just dream of a better future but lives it.

My most favourite day of the year! #WorldChildrenDay! At Mpondamwala School, I was so happy and inspired to see #children actively express what matters to them and have their voices heard!
Today saw the start of our #WCD celebrations, ahead of the official commemoration on 20 November, under the theme “My Day, My Rights.” Children performed & used their voices to call for quality & inclusive education as a fundamental right for every child. Thanks to our partners.

Steep cuts to global education funding could leave 6 million more kids out of school by 2026. Investing in children’s education isn’t charity—it’s the smartest bet on a healthier, more stable, and more prosperous world.
Investing in children’s education is one of the best investments in the future-for everyone. Countries do better when their children are educated and healthy, and it contributes to a more stable and prosperous world.👇
