The polymerase of #coronavirus #SARSCoV2 can adopt an alternative structure: an antiparallel dimer with only one nsp8 that may bind only one nsp13. We speculate the dimer facilitates template switching and synthesis of subgenomic viral #RNA. Manuscript: https://t.co/RiGv5eeOYr

Our paper describing the #coronavirus RNA polymerase structure is online. The nsp8 extensions contact RNA far away from the active site, apparently enabling processive replication of the very long #SARSCoV2 genome. Publication: https://t.co/go28YxOvaO PR: https://t.co/bT7ig1Oyjc
