As the Winter Solstice approaches, we pause as a community to reflect and support one another. This longest night is a moment of reflection that reminds us of the importance of connection, care, and holding space for each other. Even in the darkest times, together we bring hope.

We are continuing to grow! The Safe Centre of Peel is pleased to welcome two valued new partners to our collaborative: Achev and Peel Regional Paramedic Services. As our organization continues to expand, we are excited about the meaningful work we will undertake together.

At the Safe Centre of Peel, we bring together services and community partners to ensure anyone experiencing abuse has access to compassionate, trauma-informed support. Our goal is simple: safety, healing, and hope for every individual and family in our community.

Today, we reaffirm that everyone has the right to live free from violence and fear. 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence may be coming to an end, but our commitment continues every day. At the Safe Centre of Peel, we stand for justice, safety, and equality.

Our team participated in specialized strangulation training last week with the Training Institute on Strangulation Prevention & Alliance for HOPE International, alongside our partners from across the region. We had 110 participants representing all 29 of our partner agencies.

At the Safe Centre of Peel, our collaborative model brings together 27 dedicated partners across multiple sectors, to ensure those affected by IPV get the care, safety, & resources they need. A heartfelt thank you to all our partners for standing with us and with those we serve.

Today, we remember 14 women whose lives were tragically taken simply for being women in STEM, while they were attending their mechanical engineering class. We honor their memory and stand against the violence that targets women everywhere.
