@vrygnestad1 recalls her father used to swim at what was unofficially referred to as " Brown Skin Beach" in Vancouver at a time when segregation restricted where non-whites could or couldn't swim. Thx to CBC for tracking it down. @carolmliao

Anyone knows what happen to old tweets from 2018 & earlier? A good project for history/archival students to help document our events/engagements posted to social media platforms, before they are removed by the owners. @carolmliao @TariqMalik0_0 @allancho @ubcccel 2/2

Several houses in Strathcona have been marked with a sign outside to highlight the rich history & remarkable people who once lived in that historical neighbourhood. This one certainly deserves special mention.@acww @Damascus8. @VanHeritage @PchcMoM #CrossCulturalWalks
Wayson Choy, author of The Jade Peony, grew up in #Vancouver and spent a big part of his childhood in #Chinatown. He also lived in this house at 630 Keefer St. From the 1920s-1970s, various Chinese families also made this house in Strathcona their home.
