The Giants lost 2-1. They had just three hits off Shohei Ohtani and three Dodgers relievers. It's Robbie Ray vs. Yoshinobu Yamamoto in the series finale tomorrow.

Tyler Rogers, the MLB leader in appearances, lowered his ERA to 1.55 with a scoreless inning. Giants trail by a run in the ninth with Adames, Lee and Schmitt coming up.

Ryan Walker made some mechanical adjustments in the last couple of weeks and feels really good about where he's at. They appear to have worked: He hit 99.4 mph to Freddie Freeman in a scoreless eighth inning.

A good day for Landen Roupp, who got roughed up at Dodger Stadium last month. He allowed two runs -- one earned -- in six innings and struck out eight while throwing a career-high 104 pitches. Roupp posted a 3.27 ERA in the first half, which ranks 13th in the National League.

The dude who hit a ball into the cove last night struck out the side in the first inning and hit 100 mph. Giants should have upped their offer to a billion.

The crazy part about the Tyler Rogers thing is that if MLB truly wants guys who make the game more interesting (which seems to be the case with some picks) there’s nothing that would fit better than a submariner throwing 76 mph frisbees after everyone else sits 100.

The Giants won 8-7. Willy Adames led the way with a homer and two-run triple. Camilo Doval survived a scare in the ninth. They're all of a sudden just four back of the Dodgers, who have lost seven straight games.

Camilo Doval is on for the ninth. He'll get Ohtani, Betts and Freeman with a one-run lead.

Old friend Michael Conforto hit a two-run blast to dead center. That's six runs off Logan Webb, who was sharp early but gave up hard contact in the sixth. Randy Rodriguez takes over with the Giants leading 8-6.

Now it's a two-run triple for Willy Adames, who looks like the star the Giants hoped they were signing in December. They lead 8-2.

Like Willy Adames, Dominic Smith hit a ball that just kept going and going. His first homer in a month gives the Giants a 4-2 lead in the fifth.
