#Philly folks at the polls – send your voter counts to 66 wards for their turnout tracker. Turnout so far doesn’t look bad. https://t.co/R8ykPMTinX

Maybe the #s in the economic impact study are more accurate? That says 520 construction jobs for PA. Maybe it's up to 900 if you factor in the guys from Jersey? https://t.co/WPBuRNeFQ5 (see p 8)

76ers project 9,100 arena construction jobs lasting a decade. A very generous assumption: half the $1.55B pricetag goes to tradespeople. That's $85K per worker, barely enough for one year's pay + benefits. Help me with my math, @JeffGammage, @anna_orso, @awmoselle, @DPearsonPHL

Here are the goals today. It's nice to have a higher goal for apprentice & pre-apprentice hires but what assurance is there that the jobs won't all go to journeypersons.

Dug up some old files from the Phila Affirmative Action Coalition. I see that the 30% minority hiring goal was applied on other projects at the time and was achieved in some places like Temple Hospital. Have any lessons been drawn from years of work at desegregating the trades?

It is quite remarkable & damning that the goals for hiring minority & female construction workers 40 years ago on the Gallery II project were more ambitious than goals proposed now for the #arena on this same site. A basic principle back then was that goals apply to each trade.

Dropping by with personal news: After 7 exciting years managing comms for @edlawcenterpa, I'm retiring next spring. ELC was the right place to finish my professional career. A wonderful team & some big wins! Also there's a great job opening. Please share: https://t.co/9wktYzjcLU

Philly folks are saying there’s finally a critical mass over at Bluesky. Jumping on the bandwagon though I still have to be here for work.

Philly City Council is holding hearings about the wrong issue. SEPTA officials predict service cuts & a "death spiral," eg, minimal weekend service. The system's in peril. Yet Council is consumed with 8 hearings on a fast-tracked arena plan that unravels without a working SEPTA.
“We’ve been pushed to a position where we are managing the decline of @SEPTA ." the transit operator told @billy_penn 's @meirrinde today.

Some good election news for a change this morning: PA still has a Democratic majority in the House! No doubt the Republicans are feeling emboldened but the actual balance of power in the state is as it has been, so the Dems should not be cowed. https://t.co/l1kpYaFI8I

Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump is beginning to assemble his White House staff and choose Cabinet officials.

I am happy to report that at this division in Norris Square, the in-person vote today now matches the total vote in 2020. Kudos to.@RiverwardsVotes for all the on-the-ground work on turnout!

How to #VoteLikeARadical.
"We vote for the ones we're best suited to fight." We're not "co-signing a candidate" but rather "picking our opponent." A great/smart/thoughtful statement from leftist radical organizers on how to approach voting this Tuesday. Please watch/share: https://t.co/CFe3iHp52w

“We want the bureaucrats to be traumatically affected. When they wake up in the morning we want them to not want to go to work bcs they are increasingly viewed as the villains. We want their funding to be shut down so the EPA can't do all of the rules against our energy industry"

#Phillies bullpen has pitched in nine innings in this series. One was scoreless, in the other eight, runs scored. Asking @SlangsOnSports, is that a historically bad performance for postseason?
