Back when I worked at Espn Radio my cubicle was next to Mike Golic.
Often after doing early morning radio he would stick around to do NFL shows later in the day. He needed to recharge.

The coaching staff decided to put Fields back in the game....down 38 points.
Justin Fields just left the Bears at Chiefs game with a head injury and is being evaluated for a concussion after taking an elbow to the head on a QB run play.

One time on the Dan Patrick Show we made up a bit that John had a ponytail. We played it as if it were true. We ran into John at the draft a year later. He told me that people kept walking behind him to take a pic and he knew why. He played along with it like a champion.
John Clayton will be remembered in so many ways, from how he looked after his wife Pat, to the mark he made in reporting, to the standard he set. He dedicated his life to his wife and to football. He was a pioneer, a caretaker, a Hall of Famer and a slayer, in every sense.
