It will be hot inland on Thursday, but not THAT hot for mid-July. Even the hot spots will be well short of record territory.

We've got a little heat wave in store later this week — no records in jeopardy, but most inland temperatures will reach well into the 90s by Thursday and Friday, and the weekend looks toasty as well!

Fireworks are pretty, but they also produce smoke. Illegal fireworks are STILL being fired off, and air quality is becoming an issue. Worst air quality is in the East Bay, where the onshore breeze is trapping smoke against the hills.

Hiked up (and up, and up) to Coit Tower to watch the fireworks. Worth it!

A cool and breezy Independence Day for San Francisco, and inland temperatures will mostly top out 5°-10° below-average as well. Low clouds will likely move in during the evening, but the base of those clouds *SHOULD* be high enough that most of the fireworks will be visible. 🤞
