Having now heard the ABC’s 1975 pedophile tape, I’ve become convinced the same forces seeking to normalise this evil 5 decades ago have simply changed tack, and now do so under the banner of “trans kids”, “gender-affirming care”, and Drag Queen Story Hour.

Thanks for publishing this interview. As a Survivor I found it repulsive and disgusting, but also informative and valuable. It helped explain the sick minds of a Catholic paedophile group - the Ipswich Knights of St Columba - I had the misfortune to encounter as a child.

I can vaguely remember the creative process.I was thinking about evil Catholic priests. 'Feg' is a very ugly word to describe them, like 'Fagan' who was also a child abuser. 'Slough' probably came from Bunyan's 'Slough of Despond' rather than from shedding skin

It always amused me when the band said they used the name because they took it from Celtic mythology. It didn't. I made it up. But good luck to them - I'm flattered that the name worked for them. It's one I'm especially proud of - inspired by evil Catholic priests I knew.
