Don't let the cynicism of politicians seep in. Issue 1 is about ending gerrymandering. Vote YES.

Good explanation of how Issue 1 would change the way districts are drawn in our heavily gerrymandered state. I grant it's a complex process, but the complexity is purposefully designed to ensure balance and keep politicians out of the process. Vote YES.

Issue 1 would scrap the Ohio Redistricting Commission, made up of the governor, the secretary of state, the auditor and four lawmakers, two from each party and each chamber and replace it with a 15 member citizens commission of 5 Republicans, 5 Democrats and 5 independents.

Here’s hoping that arrogance and selfishness fail again. Issue 1 is a potentially positive step for everyone in Ohio. I was proud to vote YES. (25)

Don’t fall for the scare tactics. Ignore the tricks and games. Don’t let them take us through the looking glass. The ballot language does not reflect what Issue 1 will do. Issue 1 is clear; it is a step to end gerrymandering. (24).

They failed both times. Badly. Yet here they are again. Resorting to the same cynical and irresponsible nonsense. When does it end? (23).

Let’s also not forget that the same people who manipulated this ballot language were the same ones trying to scare voters in '22 and '23. They tried to change the constitution to take away the people’s power, then they tried scare tactics on another amendment. (22).

Is it guaranteed to work? Well … in this state's government, nothing is guaranteed to work the way it should. But it’s a step. And the positive is that it may take some of the power away from politicians who are all about their own title and power. (21).

The 2018 amendment allowed politicians to select committee members for redistricting. Issue 1 takes that role out of the hands of politicians and puts it into the hands of the people, who will be appointed by retired judges, who in theory should be fair and balanced. (20).

This happened after more than 70% of Ohio voters in 2018 passed what was supposed to be an anti-gerrymandering amendment. What we didn’t expect was the commission that followed would continue their merry dance and draw loaded districts, then ignore Ohio Supreme Court orders. (18).
