I guess should make an official post since I went AFK abruptly. I’m really bad at this so bear with me. This will be straight from the heart all at once. 😅 As of a few days ago, I deactivated my TikTok. I have also stopped streaming for about the last week or so. 🧵

I will likely return to streaming. It won’t be this month and it won’t be next. I need to give myself time for school and work for a bit. It’ll likely be an August return. As for my supporters who stream, I’m still here for you cheering you on and will stop by when I can. 🧵

As for streaming, I will likely come back. I just need a break and to find a new game passion. DBD is likely going to be retired. It’s always been a love of my mine, but seeing its state, the community, and the lack of care from the devs, I can not play it anymore. 🧵

I’d been thinking about it for a bit, but decided cold turkey was the best way. I deleted my personal TikTok and deactivated my PassiveBard account. It’s honestly been nice to not be inundated with short vid after short vid. Maybe I’ll get my attention span back. 🧵

So between TikTok and mixing in one of the most toxic unwelcoming gaming communities, I realized that I didn’t want that negativity in my life. Life is too short. I needed a quick break before reaching the boiling point. So on a random week day, I decided to take a break. 🧵

DBD, like TikTok, is toxically addicting. It makes me a miserable person and I know that I’m not that way. It never used to be this way. But the DBD community is one of the most toxic gaming communities I’ve seen and I don’t see it changing anytime soon. 🧵

As for streaming, I have truthfully fallen out of love with it. For my newer supporters that may not know, I’ve been streaming for over 5 years. Time flies. Primarily, I think my lack of passion for streaming comes from only ever playing Dead by Daylight. 🧵

While I enjoyed creating TikToks, the community wasn’t always great. People aren’t the nicest on social media and seeing nasty comments on the daily really takes a toll. For my mental health and to get those hours back, I knew TikTok needed to be removed from my life. 🧵

Why? Between switching jobs, college full time, and the natural garbage state of the US (for my foreign supporters, it’s not great here), things have been a bit overwhelming. TikTok took up several hours of my time a day. Several hours is an understatement, trust me. 🧵
