I was just thinking oh I should watch it again and I immediately grieved that it wouldn’t have the absolute astonishment that I felt every second watching it for the first time

When I first moved to SF in the 90s and saw pics of the Sutro Baths it was sorta the first inkling I had that maybe the arc of history doesn’t always bend towards progress
Didn't realize just how epic the original Sutro Baths were until people started posting photos. The world is a museum of passion projects.

"Hey just giving this one a nudge up in your inbox" well then you're actually giving it a nudge down in my box of wanting to do anything about it

It’s gonna be a hell of a party, but really, the notion that a nerdy little farm boy has lived this life that ended up here is almost overwhelming. Beyond gratitude, I’m dumbfounded at the unlikelihood of it all. I might need another glass of champagne

Of course we had to hop the Eurostar for the occasion, and now we’re here, guests of Because with a performance lineup of some of my all-time faves. 5/?

I’d heard the museum was going to close for years (!) for some overdue repairs but the coincidence that the closing party would align with our annual work pilgrimage to ADE in Amsterdam is kind of unbelievable 4/?

Since then my, er, tastes in architecture have changed, but I’ve been lucky enough to return to Paris many times over the years, and every time I honor little boy Ben and stop by. 3/?

Amazingly I first got to visit the Centre Pompidou when I was 12, on a school sponsored trip to London and Paris. I’ll never forget the thrill of riding the escalators that seemed to rise infinitely into the sky 2/?

I’m old enough that I remember as a young boy seeing pictures of this crazy new museum in Paris that was built inside out. I thought it was the coolest thing I’d ever seen and it seemed inconceivably far away from small-town Nebraska 1/?

Just said “I feel so good this morning” to the workout partner and he thought I said “Officer Moodswing.” So that’s a phrase that’s now available

So true. Every community has a person whose arrival “freezes” them in time, snd those communities must stay as they are at that moment forever. Here, that person is Susan Shelby
Tragic that so many people will suffer the loss of the peaceful enjoyment of their homes as a result of SB 79 turning quiet streets into construction zones and overcrowded mini-Manhattans. The backlash will be epic. Billion-dollar transit could go the way of the Red Car tracks.

What’s crazy about this (thanks @adrianabootie for the heads up) is it can’t be the 20 year anniversary of Dean Gray, I’m only 33 https://t.co/bY7CHbH6lU

@amazonmusic Especially in a world of just hits and drops and fireworks and whatever, this kind of pure musical thrill is really such a testament to the art of DJing and what it can be in the hands of a master at the height of his powers. Only human my butt, dude is a wizard
