"We look at things from an economic perspective - what are the incentives in the programs? And we think there's enormous incentives created by government programs that lead to lots of waste and inefficiencies". Paragon's @brian_blase sums up our vision in a recent @NPR story.

When COVID credits expire, a 50-year-old at 150% poverty will STILL have 90% of their $9,994 benchmark premium paid by taxpayers. They'll pay just $984/year (under 4% of their income) while taxpayers cover $9,010. 🔗

📊NEW PARAGON PIC: Hospital prices rising much faster than general inflation. Inpatient prices up 5.4%, outpatient up 6.4% vs 2.7% for non-medical goods/services since July 2024. Biden spending temporarily masked healthcare inflation - now it's back.

Corporate special interests have criticized our methodology to estimate improper ACA enrollees. But their arguments crumble under scrutiny. Our 6.4M estimate of improper ACA enrollees is solid—and is likely an undercount. Read our rebuttal👇.

📊Even WITHOUT Biden's COVID credits, taxpayers will still finance the vast majority of ACA premiums. For 75% of enrollees (people under 250% FPL), federal taxpayers cover most costs. For a 50-year-old at 150% FPL: taxpayers pay 90% of premiums. 🔗

Taxpayers will still finance most ACA premiums after Biden’s COVID credits end. The credits mainly inflated enrollment, subsidized fraud, and funneled tens of billions to insurers—not patient care. 🔗

Not all zero-claim enrollees are fraudulent. But the spike—40% of those in fully subsidized ACA plans—far exceeds normal levels (about 15% in private insurance). That gap points to mass phantom enrollment & taxpayer waste. 🔗
