Dear Trumbull County, OH,
You voted for Obama by 23 points in 2012.
You voted for Trump by 6 points in 2016, a 30-point swing.
Today, GM announced it was closing your plant. Trump's tariffs cost GM $1 billion.
I'm sorry this happened to you. You were conned by a conman.
@Pappiness
And GM stock went up with the news of plant closings. So when DT uses the stock market as a measure on how well you are doing, he means how well the top 1% is doing. I, too, am sorry that you were conned and hope that GM changes it’s mind.
@Pappiness
hahaha! Hey Trumbull county, Remember when you voted for Obama and he appointed the GM CEO that is now sticking it to you for voting for
@realDonaldTrump
? You can believe what
@Pappiness
is trying to pull here, but GM's CEO is a Democrat.
@Pappiness
What percentage of them will admit it now and turn against trump. And what percentage defend and find excuses for him. Remember the soybean farmers "it hurts but he has to do this to save our country and economy" or some such bs?
@Pappiness
Yes they were, as many have found out unfortunately.
@realDonaldTrump
is, and always has been a con man. No business skills, made his money conning others out of there’s, produced nothing but revenue for attorneys, oh that’s right, he stiffed them to. BS artist maybe,POS for sure
@Pappiness
@DeanLeh
And after Obama finished bailing out GM in 2009, they closed US plants and opened them in Mexico. Seems this capitalism thing isnt working, regardless of which pro-corporate party is in power.
@Pappiness
@kimmelman
No; GM was done in by lousy sales - even NYT said that.
As in a dire lack of good-wage jobs that could fund frequent vehicle trades - unlike 30 years ago - in the overall economy.
@Pappiness
@futurenug
I live in Trumbull county. I’m disgusted by the mindset of the people that voted for him. The closure will hurt this struggling area even worse than it has been since the closure of the steel mills. The only city economically worse than the Youngstown/Warren metro area is Dayton.

"I'm sorry this happened to you."
Why are you sorry for them? Elections have consequences. They basically voted to lose their jobs.
