Some facts about Winston Churchill well articulated by Dr
@ShashiTharoor
. His book 'An Era of Darkness' is a must read, especially if you live in the UK & are interested in reading about the bits of history they don't teach in your schools.

On the 9th of November 2004 I was performing at the Cheeky Monkey Comedy Club in Birmingham. On the line up was Rufus Hound (MC), Christian Reilly and a double act called Bullett and Gunn. The headliner was a man called Ian Cognito, popularly known as ‘Cogs’. (1/n)
#RIPCogs
In the 15 years that I’ve been doing stand-up comedy I don’t know if I’ve ever been blown away in the same way that I was when I saw Cogs for the first time. He was a tour de force. He made the whole room heave in a wave of laughter that never stopped. (2/n)
But if you were a fan of watching LIVE stand-up comedy, there was nothing quite as electric as being in a room with Ian Cognito on the bill. I feel incredibly grateful to have been on the UK comedy circuit in the time of Ian Cognito. Maverick. Outlaw. Legend. RIP my friend. (4/n)
He was rebellious, unpredictable and utterly brilliant. When Cogs was in the room, everyone knew that anything could happen. And when I say anything, I mean ANYTHING. It’s probably why TV couldn’t risk him and why many venues didn’t have the guts to book him. (3/n)
My friend

has one of the best lines about why our country faces some of the challenges it does today. He says it's because when we were in school there were 80 marks for history and 20 marks for civics. Genius.
Dear Dr

Note: Saying that physical violence as a response to a comedian’s joke you are offended by sets a dangerous precedent, does not mean you agree with the joke in question or that you are condoning being insensitive.
I've always felt bad about the way
@virendersehwag
was let go from the Indian team. I felt he still had some cricket left in him. Even if you felt different, he deserved 1 tour's notice so he could leave with a flourish or at least the respect he deserved. A Pak tour was up next.
It was lovely to catch up with

in Lucknow today. So happy with all the success he had achieved. It's all down to his determination and consistent hard work...and he is just getting started!

'Nabbed while trying to flee'. How wonderful that TN could not think of a more appropriate phrase to describe starving people with no roof over their heads trying to find their way to their own homes. Why not spend 48 hours under their conditions & see if you don't try to 'flee'.
Dad and I send you much love from one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Khardungla Pass is just short of 18000 feet and we crossed it on motorcycles under heavy snowfall. The roads were often rough and slippery but it was an experience we will remember forever.

Far too many people taking this tweet far too seriously! And literally. My point: I admire her leadership skills which are obviously in context to the country she is leading. Doesn't mean her style or capabilities will necessarily suit India or the whole world.
Anyone lost a huge (590 kgs) amount of Cannabis/Ganja and a truck in and around Chagolia Checkpoint last night?

Great job Team Dhubri.
During this lockdown I have a list of 12 activities that I try and do daily. One of them is spending quality alone time with my mother. Today she received her first ever bachata class. Turns out she is an absolute natural. I think she gets it from me ;)
3 years ago I performed at an Engineering college where I highlighted that the girls' hostel was off campus while the boys were on campus. This had safety implications and made the girls' education more expensive due to travel costs. I don't know if my performance had... (1/2)
If you are staying at Radisson Kolkata you cannot have a guest come meet you in your room after 8pm. Even if you check in at 10.30pm. Why not? Is your hotel frequented by prostitutes? Or are you running a dormitory for school children. If so, where is the matron?

My mother is 66 (she'll kill me for saying this). Given her display of natural talent at her first bachata class yesterday, I tried to teach her some harder steps today. In 1 hour she learnt what probably took me months. Well done mom! One day I hope to be half as awesome as you.
Hello South Africa. Fancy improving your odds of winning the Cricket World Cup this year? You might want to consider inviting back a certain Mr de Villiers!

I sometimes judge progress by the way people drive. Do they follow the law. Do they respect fellow drivers & pedestrians. I feel behaviour on the road is reflective of attitudes & who people are as human beings. How do people drive in your city & what does it tell you about them?
