Drew Lanphere again! This time he hits an RBI double to score Luke Nixon to give NC State a 7-3 lead over Winthrop with one out in the eighth.

Brayden Fraasman with a BOMB over the left field fence to give NC State a 6-3 lead with no outs in the bottom of the 8th. Insurance runs for the #Pack9 as Luke Nixon gets his third hit of the day with a double after the homer.

LUKE HEMRIC!! The freshman reliever gets back-to-back strikeouts to get NC State out of a bases loaded jam. The #Pack9 remains tied with Winthrop, 3-3, heading to the bottom of the fourth.

Ty Head hits a missile to right field for a 368-foot home run to tie the game back up at 3-3 with Winthrop in the third.

End of 2nd: NC State 2, Winthrop 1 Drew Lanphere pops out and Winthrop doubles up Mikey Ryan at first base on a base-running blunder. Luke Nixon scores on the sac fly to make it a 2-1 lead for the #Pack9 before Sherman Johnson lines out.

After Brayden Fraasman reached on an error, Luke Nixon doubles deep into right field to put two runners in scoring position with no outs. Mikey Ryan grounds into a would-be out, but the throw sails and scores Fraasman with Nixon moving to third and Ryan at first.

Winthrop takes a 1-0 lead off a walk and a couple of infield singles allowed by Heath Andrews. But he limits the damage to one run with a strikeout for the third out to head to the bottom of the second.
