New paper by @rebecca_mcgirr in Geophy. Res. Lett. Continental hydrology can mitigate to some extent the impacts of melting ice sheets. Natural climate effects such as La Nina as well as groundwater pumping can cause significant local sea level changes. https://t.co/EsUWxqVHMf

If you ever end up in the situation: 1. Take a photo of the accident scene. Anyone who saw it was immediately against the other guy! 2. Pursue it to the end, even if it means lodging a civil dispute. The paperwork is easy and it was this that forced him to pay his excess 6/ 7

it no longer had anything to do with him. I followed up with NRMA and, indeed, he had paid the excess (the day the tribunal hearing date was announced). NRMA accepted my claim and have now paid the cost of replacing my bike (cheaper than repairing it!). Victory! 5/7

He responded to the tribunal papers saying that we were each at fault and each responsible for our own costs. Rubbish! I was doing < 10 km/hr and was not at fault. It went to a tribunal hearing - by phone - where he announced that he had paid his insurance excess and that 4/7
