As a father to a young daughter with Autism, I know how hard and challenging the NDIS can be. With the right supports, I was able to hear Emery say “I love you dad” for the first time earlier this year. It is something I will never forget and gives me the drive I have today.

I was honoured to officially open the North Queensland Military Muster with my daughter Astin. 1000’s of people attend the muster, to learn about the military history of Townsville and North QLD, from the Boer War to present, recognising, remembering and preserving that history.

I want to give a voice to the voiceless, especially those vulnerable people who have fallen through the cracks. Navigating the NDIS should not be an additional challenge or burden for those families and vulnerable individuals who are already facing so much.

Over the past few days, a lot of people have asked me how I feel about being appointed the Shadow Assistant Minister for the NDIS. The truth is, I asked for the position & I am honoured & humbled to have been trusted with it.
