*Clearing throat for attention* Hello everyone, Casey here! Just to let you all that my new police horse name is Orkney... All of us horses are given a name after a place in Scotland as that is whom we serve. Hope you're all staying safe, Orkney 🐴😁
We are very sad to say that we are bidding a very fond farewell to 2 of our amazing horses. Lauder and Nerston are both retiring and heading to their amazing new homes tomorrow.
Very wet football game tonight at Ibrox - Rangers v Kilmarnock. Lauder is making sure his riders aches and pains are dealt with by giving him a wee shoulder rub!

We sadly had to retire Lewis due to ongoing lameness. He had been with us for a few years & was so popular and most of you will remember him. He found a lovely retirement home & we thought you would like to see him in his new home. We miss him but we are glad he is happy.
Today is a sad day for us as we say goodbye to 21 year old Oban who has been retired after around 14 years service with us. A true gent who will be missed by us all.
Well done Scotland 🏴 Glasgow was at the Rugby today and coped very well with the nice rugby crowds. Now heading home for dinner and a well earned day off!

What a lovely surprise Inverness & Elgin got when they returned to the lorry in Cambuslang after patrolling. A lovely person left a bag of carrots. So they devoured them on returning to the stables!! They did share them with the others! Thank you mysterious carrot person 😂 🥕 x
Lockerbie has settled into his overnight accommodation in Oban where he quickly persuaded Nicole to give him a wee scratch. I think she hit the spot!!!

After a spell of recuperation from a bit of a tweak Inverness had a ball for his first turn out of the year. He was happy to chat to Oban on one side and Lockerbie the other!!!
#yeeha
Skye completed another section of her training today. She has settled in well since arriving 10 months ago and at only 6 and 16.2hh she is a brave little horse. We are very biased though and think she is very pretty too!!
This is Gregory who is 3 years old doing his 100 mile charity ride on his pony Caramel for World Horse Welfare where he has raised over £350. As a surprise Logie and Brora escorted him on his last 2 miles through the finishing line. Congratulations Gregory mum needs a seat now x
Public order training today. Left to right we have Ayr, Edinburgh, Oban, Lockerbie, Elgin, Montrose, Harris and Lanark. As you can see Lockerbie was very keen to lead the charge! 🙈🤣
What a lovely surprise Ayr got when he returned to the horse box to find an early Xmas present from some lovely person who left lots of lovely carrots on the step. Thank you very much whoever you are

It's still early days yet and I've to mind my p's and q's... That means pears and carrots right? Still mastering the accent...
Last week we suffered an enormous heartbreaking loss to our department when our dear friend Stirling aka Frank died suddenly following a short illness. We all loved him dearly but one person who was very special to him has written these beautiful words. Rest in peace big guy xxx
We get the hint Dyce???? Not happy that he has been on patrol in the strong wind, rain and meeting numerous horse eating purple wheelie bins blowing down the streets in Irvine, Dyce hints that he would like to go for another adventure???
Dennis the Menace didn't stop Casey and Emily attending their first football matches today at Ibrox and Kilmarnock respectively. They were both very well behaved despite the weather. Both are safe back at the yard to Gnasher some carrots 🥕😊
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at the Mounted Unit 🎄⛄️ ❄️ Police Horses Inverness & Brora pictured on their well earned day off in the paddocks munching some hay and enjoying the dusting of snow that’s fallen overnight. Have a great weekend everyone
