This afternoon, East Belfast Neighbourhood Officers were assisting with traffic control measures for the filming of Series 2 of TV drama 'Blue Lights'. We really enjoyed meeting some of the very similarly-dressed cast members.
Operation Close Pass is underway In East Belfast. Officers have spoken with 4 drivers around 'close pass' of cyclists so far. Number of drivers also spoken with and thanked for safe passing and rewarded with road safety merchandise.

Detectives from Serious Crime Branch investigating the murder of Ian Ogle have charged a 40 year old man with murder. He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrate’s’ Court tomorrow, Friday, 10 May. He is also being reported to the PPS for attempted intimidation.

Parking on footpaths creates issues for pedestrians, wheelchair users and persons with prams, placing them at elevated risk on roads. Please park correctly and not impact on usage of footpath. Enforcement activity to ensure persons using footpaths are kept safe will be ongoing.
A band parade is taking place in east Belfast this evening. Disruption to traffic is to be expected, particularly in Albertbridge Rd area. Contrary to some reports on social media there have been no issues or disorder in any part of the city linked to this event.
Detectives investigating the murder of Ian Ogle in east Belfast on Sunday 27 January have charged a 32 year old man with murder. He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court tomorrow, Wednesday, 6 March. As is normal procedure ALL charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

Detectives investigating the murder of 21-year-old Reece Leeman in East Belfast have charged a 28-year-old man with murder. He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday 18th March.

Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force arrested a 33 year old man in the Lisburn area today. The man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and is currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries.

Police were in attendance at a security alert in the Ravenhill Ave area of Belfast earlier this evening. Following a controlled explosion, a suspicious object was declared to be a hoax. All roads in the area have since reopened to traffic.

A 17 yo male arrested following the theft of two cars from Cregagh Park East, E Belfast on Friday has been charged with a number of offences and is due to appear at Belfast MC today. A second 17 yo male has also now been arrested and remains in custody at this time.
