I agree @RepJoseSerrano and will work with NR Chair @RepRaulGrijalva to hear and pass legislation admitting Puerto Rico as a state. It’s also incumbent upon @SenRubioPress and @SenRickScott to lead a similar bill in the Senate. It’s time for action now. #PRStatehoodNOW 🇺🇸 🇵🇷

Puerto Rico voted for statehood fair and square. Congress must support the will of the people of Puerto Rico. America cannot demand democracy abroad if it ignores the plebiscite results and denies its citizens of Puerto Rico equal rights that only statehood can provide.

A clear majority of U.S. citizens in Puerto Rico have voted for statehood. I don’t care whether Puerto Rico would be a “blue” or “red” state, though it would likely be a swing state. I only care that our fellow Americans seek democratic rights and equality. Congress must act.
