Today we passed the 2020 Suffolk County budget with bi-partisan support as a result of opening the Operating Budget Working Group meetings to the public. I commend my colleagues for their efforts to make this happen.

I am deeply saddened by Rep Elijah Cummings' passing, an impassioned leader for Civil Rights, speaker of truth and powerful representative for the people. His dedication and commitment to his district and country and his pursuit of fairness and justice will be missed.
