John has some great points. I think Punk confirmed what we already believed. AEW has never gotten back to the rating of their premiere episode in 2019 & they are putting a few thousand in big arenas & blocking off like 60-70% of them. How do they get a better tv deal with that?
@POSTwrestling
The one part that I would disagree was saying the business "passed by PPV." AEW has proven that to be completley untrue. They're doing millions in PPV buys every single PPV, something NO ONE thought they would be able to do.
@POSTwrestling
Yall hit the nail on the head.
AEW is a business based on media rights deals. If show attendance mattered, they'd run house shows to maximize ticket revenue. Ppl can argue nielson ratings factor into media rights, but nielson ratings are less relevant with every passing day.
@POSTwrestling
He's right AEW rights deal is the only Metric that matters at this point. It's probably the only source of revenue they have that's going to be sustainable long term aside from the PPV money

For the most part I don’t agree with what he said. However, I’m glad I finally saw a video where someone was against CM Punk, but didn’t act like a crybaby and actually had some good points
@POSTwrestling
I praise them for Wembley, but there’s an argument they can’t do that anywhere else. What happened at Wembley happened cause they went to a market where they haven’t had anything significant since summerslam back in the day. So obviously the show was gonna be close to selling out
@POSTwrestling
I think that’s something that doesn’t get talked about enough . In a time where live content is king, I think some underestimate how valuable the fact that aew produces 4 hours of live content and 5 hours weekly for wbd. They will get a rights increase and be on max eventually.
@POSTwrestling
OH LORD, so refreshing to hear people being reasonable and actually talking about something not just puking negativity for clout, this was very enjoyable to watch/listen and very enriching, thank you guys
@POSTwrestling
Sounds like AEW apologists to me.
Yes, AEW is the “strongest competition” WWE has had in years, but they’ve also taken considerable steps backwards. They used to average near a 900k to 1.1 million viewers per episode of Dynamite. Now they’re down to 750k to 850k. They’ve…

Focusing on 5 star matches isn’t a bad thing. It’s Dave’s idea of what 5 stars is, is the problem.
Delivering a great wrestling product should be the goal, delivering compelling stories interesting wrestlers/characters should also be the goal. TK doesn’t do those other 2.
