Supt. Chris Briggs shared an update with the local business community during the @PicktownChamber State of Pickerington luncheon yesterday. Briggs talked about the district's 4.5 out of 5 Star Rating on the Ohio Report Card, and gave updates on our Plan for Progress.

Sycamore Creek Elementary Kindergarten students in Mrs. Tinsley's class were surprised with Leap Frogs donated by the PTO on Leap Day in Feb. The class used them to practice reading/writing and they made special Leap Day crowns. Mrs. Tinsley said it was "A ’hopping’ good time."

It was a capacity crowd for the 5th annual 4th Grade Music Festival Sat. at Toll Gate ES! The concert featured students from all 7 @plsd elementary schools. More than 170 students alone attended. Concert video: Pictures:

It's National School Breakfast Week 🍳and across @plsd we are highlighting the importance of eating a healthy breakfast to help boost academic achievement! 📚We also want to thank our wonderful Food Services 🍔staff for their hard work all school year long.👏🏽

During Black History Month (in Feb.), we stopped by Mrs. Christa Ralph's Tussing ES 3rd grade class going on a "gallery walk" 🚶🏾‍♂️to gather facts about influential African-Americans, as displayed on the walls and doors of the school. What a wonderful hands-on learning experience!

Chinese New Year celebrations culminated with the Lantern Festival🏮on Feb. 24. Diley MS 6th grade English Learner (EL) Brianna Chen created this video about the festival (Teacher Alisha Landis' EL class): Brianna's new to the U.S. this year. Great job!

Global Scholars in their first year of the program visited Ohio Dominican University last week to learn about worldwide issues and global careers. The students participated in a migration simulation and got a tour of the campus.

Great job to Debbie Skarsten, English Learner (EL) Teacher at Ridgeview Jr. High, who was interviewed for Ohio Schools (@OhioEA magazine, article begins on page 17). We're told her students were thrilled to see their pictures in the magazine!

The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee (SSAC) met Tues. to discuss strengthening the sense of belonging in @plsd, among other topics. The SSAC is 12 high school students contributing to the success of our district and we are #PLSDProud of the work they are doing! 👏🏽
