My faculty colleagues and I have been banned from Widener Library for two weeks to punish us for reading quietly while displaying quotations from the Library's statement of values
Roughly 25 Harvard professors conducted a silent study-in at Widener Library on Wednesday to protest the library’s decision to temporarily ban pro-Palestine students who held a similar demonstration last month. @tillyrobin and @neilhshah15 report. https://t.co/cqTzaV5KAE

For more on the bureaucracy behind Germany's heavy-handed response to pro-Palestine movements, listen to our latest episode with @plk here:
Berlin police arrested a 10-year-old at a pro-Palestinian demonstration for carrying a Palestinian flag. Disturbing, shameful, Germany 2024.

It’s also worth noting that Martin Langer, who took the picture of Ewert, was one of the really great German photographers and one of the really great German humorists of recent times. We are all poorer for his death in 2022.
