• Today is September 26, 2023, the 11th of Tishrei. • There's a waxing gibbous moon. • There are 73 days until Hanukkah. Until then, enjoy Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret, Simchat Torah, and of course Shabbat every week. There's always something to celebrate!.

Do you know about the holiday at the end of Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret? In the book Maya Prays for Rain, young Maya goes through her neighborhood warning people of the incoming storm she's sure is on the way.

Hi, Hello, Welcome is a sweet board book from PJ Publishing, written by Chris Barash and illustrated by Rosie Butcher. The child in this story welcomes guests and greets them with a smile, a wave, and a friendly shalom.

Sometimes things we do make us wish we could wash our mistakes away. If you already did Tashlich (which translates to “casting off") on Rosh Hashanah, you can still use this simple activity to show how we can recognize our mistakes and work to "wash them away" in the new year.

In the ten days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur – the Ten Days of Teshuvah (Returning) – we turn away from our mistakes and return to the “best self” we can be.

Teshuvah actually means "return" in the context of returning from doing wrong. Help kids understand this concept.
