Newell-Fonda’s Macy Sievers had 44 points (14.7 PPG), 16 assists (5.3 APG), and 12 steals (4.0 SPG) in the state tournament. Pretty good numbers on the surface right?
She played a TOTAL of 41 minutes the entire tournament. Let that sink in.

This was the first AAU season that we were able to cover as we just started up the Iowa site in the fall of this past year. We want to thank all the parents for their kind words, the players in Iowa for being such high character kids, and those who have helped out along the way.

Did you know that the 2023 class in Iowa is loaded? We’ve had 34 freshmen score more than 10 points in a game this year already. This class is going to rival some of the best Iowa has had in recent years. There will likely be half a dozen high major players come out of it.
Our updated class of 2022 rankings came out yesterday and we are continuing our positional breakdown of the class.
Ryley Goebel heads the strong class of small forwards but there are a few kids who can move up quickly.
Donlea is a very quick guard who manages an offense really well. She is ranked

Dallas Center-Grimes took down Bondurant-Farrar in a slow paced battle 43-32.
Ella Lampe was the only player who scored double digits in the game as she ended with 10 points.
West Lyon takes out West Burlington 52-30 in what was a closely contested matchup until the second half.
SDSU commit Brooklyn Meyer had 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 blocks in the win for West Lyon.
Newell-Fonda takes down Bishop Garrigan 66-52 to win their 3rd 1A State Championship in a row.
Macy Sievers had 17 points to lead Newell-Fonda in the win.
Iowa City West stuns Waterloo West 65-63.
Meena Tate had 21 points in the win while Waterloo West held Providence commit Aubrey Koch to just 2 points in the game.
IC West will move on to face Johnston.
