Thank you, ⁦⁦@UNESCO⁩! It was a real pleasure to work more closely with many excellent professionals of the Secretariat, and especially with my fantastic closest team - Iulia Nechifor and Sandra Gallet, the heartbeat of each of my accomplishments!

Honored to open the 43rd session of the General Conference of @UNESCO and deliver my final speech as President of the 42nd session. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all Member States and to the Secretariat for their continuous support and cooperation of this memorable journey!

In my speech in #Samarkand, at the Youth Forum of the @UNESCO #43rdGeneralConference, I advised young leaders to: stay engaged, make themselves heard, work closely with their countries' National Commissions to ensure that their proposals are carried forward in national policies.

In my last day as PGC in the @UNESCO HQ, I was kindly invited by the Chair - the ambassador of the Rep. of Moldova - to attend the Group II Meeting. Great occasion to thank them for totally endorsing me at the beginning of my presidential journey! Some visited my office! Merci!

At the end of my term as President of the 42nd General Conference of @UNESCO, I hosted a Gala of joy, gratitude and celebration, honoring #Romania’s heritage and @UNESCO’s spirit of cooperation, dialogue, and peace. Thank you all for two unforgettable years!

The 222nd Session of the @UNESCO Executive Board ended today with a set of important recommendations put forward for the approval of the 43rd General Conference, and tributes paid to Director-General @AAzoulay and @EXBChairperson, for their exemplary leadership. Congrats to all!

Un grand honneur de m'entretenir aujourd'hui avec S.E. Mr Ngo Le Van, Vice-ministre des Affaires étrangères du Viet Nam et son équipe. J’ai remémoré mon inoubliable mission de 2024. Je l’ai félicité pour l’engagement et soutien constant de son pays aux programmes de l’UNESCO.

I delivered my final speech as PGC in the @UNESCO Executive Board Plenary. I called for a stronger commitment to multilateralism, and underlined UNESCO’s unique role in fostering dialogue and peace in the world. Grateful for the trust and collaboration along this special journey!

Congrats to Amb. Khondker Mohammad Talha of Bangladesh for his nomination, by the @UNESCO ExBoard, as President of the 43rd General Conference. He has my full support in undertaking this huge responsibility. Compliments to Amb. Takehiro Kano of Japan for his exemplary campaign.

The result of the vote of the @unesco Executive Board for the post of Director-General sees Khaled Ahmed El-Enany Ali Ezz of #Egypt obtaining 55 votes out of 57. He will be presented to the General Conference as the nominated DG.
