We'll also check the health of the current batteries and determine if a larger size might be needed or if they are just due a straight replacement. We also add labels to the batteries to make it clear when they were installed. #FireAlarms #Batteries #NotYourTypicalAABatteries

During at least one visit a year we check the system to understand the power requirements needed and ensure the battery is the correct size.

The period and the power requirements of the system determines which size battery is required.

The batteries are present to provide emergency back-up power in the event of a power failure to ensure the system can continue working for a certain period of time. The use of the building determines how long that period needs to be.

The load test is completed to ensure we calculate the maximum amount of power the system will need whilst under the most power-hungry conditions, i.e when the alarm and it's sounders are activated. This allow us to understand the size of batteries required.

As part of the fire alarm maintenance visits we complete we inspect the batteries in the fire alarm panel and complete a 'load' test.

In fact, in unoccupied buildings/buildings where construction work is taking place the likelihood of fires can be even higher than usual, therefore it's crucial the life safety systems are continuing to be maintained. #FireAlarms #LifeSafety #Construction

Even in less well-lit areas, where a property is undergoing some internal construction works, our team will still be there to test the life safety systems.

We always try and gain all the information we'll need when taking on contracts, this includes clarifying which areas we are contracted to service. This means we won't waste time walking up flights of stairs unless we need to 😉 #FireAlarms #Servicing #Engineering
