Spontaneous Abortion is an "all around hated term" when talking about miscarriage and pregnancy loss. @rachelegross of @nytimes dives into 'When ‘Abortion’ Wasn’t a Dirty Word', citing @PennOBGYN Dr. Clement and our study at @PEACEUPenn @PennMedicine

The @Bedsider method explorer is fun to play around with. Even if you are happy with your current method, you can compare it to what's out there, and confirm your priorities when looking at birth control options.

Counseling about IUD placement timing should not vary by demographic characteristics of patients...even if a doctor feels that a patient with lower access to care is well-suited to have an IUD placed right after delivery, as opposed to at their 6 week postpartum visit.

Great longitudinal in @greenjrnl from the folks at U of Utah SLC looking at switching and discontinuing contraceptive methods. Patients unhindered by cost barriers are more likely to try different methods, or change methods when goals/priorities change. https://t.co/MA9HTVDijI

Our 2015 pilot found that medication abortion patients were interested and satisfied with starting the depo shot birth control on the same day as their abortion. Important research from @UMNews / @ContraceptionJL will help council MAB patients between #DMPA and #Nexplanon

The study concludes that 'behavioral flags are inequitably deployed in ED settings, replicating societal biases of assumed criminality, eg racialization of the diagnoses of schizophrenia, the so-called super predators in the 1990s, to contemporary use of agitated delirium.
