hCG can ⬆️ performance, & biotin can interfere with hCG lab tests. The PCC funded Dr. Miller to examine if biotin could be used as a masking agent in #antidoping tests. This work led to the discovery that biotin supplements can substantially ⬇️ urinary hCG values in immunoassays.

Researchers examined the excretion of metabolites of the anabolic androgenic steroid metandienone (MD). They identified new metabolites and detected E3, a metabolite that could potentially increase the detection window for MD in #antidoping analyses. https://t.co/IyLcRU6c3P

Over-the-counter topical wound care products may contain the steroid clostebol. Authors examined the metabolism of oral vs. topical clostebol & propose using ratios between metabolites as a potential method to distinguish between administration routes. https://t.co/qQtx8EkaiT

The metabolism of clostebol after oral and transdermal applications was described. Ten metabolites were detected after oral administration (M1–M10), but only five (M1–M4 and M9) could be detected...

Anti-doping analyses for steroids can be costly & time-intensive. Researchers developed and validated a new efficient & effective method, using liquid chromatography-(low-resolution)-MS3, that directly detected 17 steroidal esters from dried blood spots. https://t.co/EWupE39RnE
