Campaigning for plant-based food as the norm. Reducing meat & dairy benefits climate, biodiversity & human health, and massively reduces animal suffering.

A campaign to encourage #plantbased eating as the norm - we urgently need leadership from governments, councils and public bodies everywhere. The science is clear: "The planet can't sustain billions of meat-eaters" - #SirDavidAttenborough. #plantbasednorm #plantbasedbydefault

I signed an open letter calling on global leaders to stop wasting food by feeding it to factory farms and prioritise #FoodNotFeed. Farmed animals should be reared in high-welfare, nature-friendly farms, eating foods people can’t eat. Will you join me?

This is Richard Smith. He probably wouldn't want you sharing this everywhere. It's him striking a poor horse over the head with a riding crop at the weekend.

Excellent article by #GeorgeMonbiot on the pointless cruelty and vacuous macho gratification of bluefin tuna fishing, 'the UK equivalent of bullfighting'. https://t.co/jlHoOu5fzP

A tournament in Cornwall will pit anglers against these magnificent creatures, as part of a rising trend for so-called ‘sportfishing’, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

This is the reality of so-called 'autumn hunting'. Following a trail? No. The bland new name is to conceal its real purpose - to send hounds into woodland & train them to kill fox cubs. An outright ban is the only way to stop this. #HuntLies
The Cattistock Hunt kill was caught on our drone this morning. The fox was chased into a dense vegetation with hounds and hunt staff quickly surrounding it. The terrified fox eventually bolted out and was engulfed by hounds, possibly a terrier was entered to do this.

On the day Climate Change Committee confirms that #meat consumption must significantly drop, it's good to see several #plantbased items on @ComptonVerney's menu. Please add a vegan hot sandwich though! #CCC #CCCReport #NetZero #sustainablefood

The cruelty of dairy farming - well-hidden behind the rosy picture of happy cows and 'healthy' milk. Dairy milk is for calves! Drinking milk means paying for cruelty.
‼️ Did you catch our brand-new TV advert on Channel 4 tonight? ICYMI, the ad is now available to watch via YouTube 🔗 https://t.co/0qfIZpF95a A special thanks to @missdianemorgan for lending her voice to the advert, and to @GenV_Eng for their footage of UK dairy farms.

There’s something wrong when chicken and chips is cheaper than a salad, said Joanna Lumley commenting on the terrible life of a factory farmed chicken. Thanks to Joanna Lumley and Philip Lymbery for a wonderful conversation at Oxford Literary Festival.

Well said, @ChrisGPackham - this irresponsible campaign is ignoring climate science and protecting the vested interests of the 'livestock' industry.
Yesterday I joined @dalevince and over 40 health , food , farming , climate and animal protection groups including @plantbasedhpuk @feedbackorg @greenpeaceuk to call upon the UK government to stop supporting the AHDB's meat and dairy promoting Eat Balanced campaign . 1/ 🧵

Glad to see @BlenheimPalace acknowledging #Veganuary. Please follow the #NationalTrust's excellent example by making half your menus #plantbased - that'd massively improve your environmental credentials & reduce carbon footprint! #Veganuary2025 #sustainablefood

Will there be a dead turkey on your plate this Christmas? If so, how did that turkey live - and die? Shouldn't we celebrate #Christmas with kindness, not cruelty? Thank you @AnimalAid for the leaflets - some if which have found their way to @sainsburys. #GoVegan

Read this thread - and thank you @guyshrubsole for this much-needed perspective!
Jeremy Clarkson, James Dyson, the Earl of Derby – they’re up in arms about paying tax on the vast areas of land they own. Small farmers are worried that changes to Agricultural Property Relief (APR) will affect them. But who are the big landowners complaining the loudest?... 1/
