The 28th Infantry Division held an "Iron Lieutenant" course July 26 at Fort Indiantown Gap. The one-day course was was designed to prepare 1st and 2nd lieutenants to lead as officers while a part of the 28th ID.

A cargo deck above the refueling system can hold a mixed load of passengers and cargo. Depending on fuel storage configuration, the KC-135 can carry up to 83,000 pounds of cargo.

It provides aerial refueling support to Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and allied nation aircraft. The KC-135 is also capable of transporting litter and ambulatory patients using patient support pallets during aeromedical evacuations.

The Pennsylvania National Guard is saddened by the loss of Master Sgt. Elizabeth Lohrmann of the 193rd Special Operations Wing, who died Aug. 3 in an off-duty snorkling accident while deployed to Guam. Lohrmann, 45, was a resident of Kingsley, Pennsylvania.

Lt. Col. Owen Adams assumed command of the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team from Col. Shawn Wray at a change-of-command ceremony July 25 at Fort Indiantown Gap. The brigade is headquartered in Washington, Pa., and has units throughout Pennsylvania as well as Maryland and Ohio.
