Huge work went into the report, which was co-lead by USA, Canada and @WWF. Applied Ocean Sciences (AOS) was contracted to conduct and interpret data from PAME's Arctic Ship Traffic Data program into the modelling in the report.

The goal of the report is to improve understanding of underwater noise and identify possible actions that may help address this issue in the Arctic by assessing contributions of underwater noise from shipping under various economic and environmental scenarios.

Underwater noise from shipping is recognized as a serious environmental problem that has impacts on Arctic species, ecosystems and ecosystem services. PAME has just published a new report the topic.
