In a former life, I worked on mpox. Now, I work on regional engagement for pandemic preparedness. Thanks to @AfifahRahShep for inviting me to co-author this perspective on strengthening regional cooperation for public health emergencies, mpox as case study.

You just gotta put in the hours. When I was consulting for @inecnigeria and building out the social media department, we would work 18-hour+ days and sleep at the International Conference Centre overnight during the 2015 Presidential elections. Then, go to Nicon Luxury Hotel 5.

In celebrating legends, there’s a risk of reducing them. Many know Gentleman Mike Ejeagha from the viral TikTok dance (Gwo gwo gwo ngwo) but that’s a tiny part of his music. One of my favourite writers @JollyPaps1 writes about the fullness of his story👇🏿.

I’m in that brutal thesis phase where my brain and fingers just aren’t in sync. I’ve taken time off, switched writing locations, kept reading for inspo… but still stuck. So now I’m asking Twitter. Any other tricks for breaking the writing block? @ThePhDPlace.

I hardly ever remember the details of a book. But I always remember how it made me feel, where/why I decided to get it and the season of life I was in when I read it. Love this episode reflecting on why this may happen to some of us.

It tears my heart to say that my father, Ngugi Wa Thiong'o passed away earlier today. I am me because of him in so many ways, as his child, scholar and writer. I love him - I am not sure what tomorrow will bring without him here. I think that is all I have to say for now.
