Reality check. If the current police regulatory system is failing one of the most scandal ridden police forces of modern times, #GMP, then what value can an #EthicsCommittee have? I’ve decided not to pursue my application. Flexible morality is not for me.
@BishManchester @gmpolice Yes please Bishop, I’ll throw my hat in the ring for this. I care deeply about how GM is policed, am willing to suffer your chairmanship but please note, I am my own and not a yes man. Would this create any obstacles to being considered?

1/2 Sorry I dont by any of this for one second!👇More spin than substance. GMP still in crisis. Still awash with rotten cultures. It has haemorrhaged staff, cant recruit & investigative depts are full of inexperienced staff & civvies. New sexual crime unit prime example! 👀🙈🙉🙊

I will be raising this again with NPCC’s Counter Corruption lead, CC Stephen Watson, after all, he has no place for liars. https://t.co/Z4OVQNGgUQ

From quadrupling arrests to overhauling an ‘inadequate’ 101 service; hiring a wave of new Chief Superintendents to booting out ‘liars’, Stephen Watson tells the M.E.N. how he intends to fix a...

Certain people have compounded this situation with actions. I raised all of the above with @CCIanHopkins and his deputy, Ian Pilling. Quite the double act, neither had the courtesy to respond. They could’ve produced the original allegation, oh wait!

‘The retrospective heavily redacted statement’. Who authorised it? Who took it? Who fact checked it? Why was it ever needed - They’d investigated me hadn’t they? 🤔 It had more holes in it than a block of cartoon cheese.

He had no logical response to the statement taken 17/18 years after the force said it had already investigated a complaint against me. There spoke a man who wouldn’t recognise an investigation or evidence if it slapped him in the face.

After the no case to answer response from GMP PSB, I raised the issue in minute chronological detail to @policeconduct’s Derrick Campbell. His response defied belief saying no record of an original complaint didn’t mean a thing.

Retrospective paperwork to justify a particular course of action, we’ve seen this before from GMP’s hierarchy haven’t we? https://t.co/KzKPgfbob8

After I submitted a SAR for certain documentation, I was supplied with a retrospective statement which was heavily redacted dated AFTER I had raised concerns about a false allegation. 17/18 years after I was supposedly investigated (but wasn’t).

Having been stonewalled, IPCC reluctantly passed the matter back to GMP who said the officers concerned had no case to answer. At no time did the phantom allegation supposedly made 17 years previously ever materialise. Just the usual Hokey Cokey.

Dame Anne Owers said GMP’s stance made a mockery of the system on a BBC programme. It’s definitely worth a listen to appreciate the depths of depravity a force currently in Special Measures will go to to preserve its reputation. https://t.co/bRPUVduWfE

Are the police really open to scrutiny when people complain about misconduct?

The matter I raised was independently investigated by the then #IPCC (Midlands Region). GMP refused to co-operate with them citing Legal Professional Privilege. Once again, if the allegation ever existed, why didn’t GMP present it to negate me?

I raised this issue with @TheWizard62 via a comprehensive witness statement. He subsequently referred the matter to @policeconduct. If the allegation against me actually existed you’d think he’d present it and close me down, it didn’t, nor did he.

When I became aware of a slur against me (after challenging PSB excesses) I sought the so called previous allegation. Guess what,it didn’t exist. This was acknowledged in writing after a check on their systems.

Got to ‘love’ the old GMP Command guard and the shambles they got themselves into. When a QC says rotten to its core, people should listen. The same about IPCC/IOPC not being fit for purpose. Follow this thread.

Real cops appreciate the genuine article, Shay, as opposed to some arse licking toady. What a shame they feel unable to publicly support you for fear of sanction. But it shows nothing has changed at GMP. Another missed opportunity gone.

I never understood why some sections of policing had a phobia about truth! 🤔

One of my instructors at Bruche said exactly that, “There’s more danger in the station than out.” At the time I thought, “What’s he on about?” Now I know!
