We are aware that WEM generation data is currently delayed - upstream source server from AEMO is down, we're working on getting the data back up.

👩💻 Curtailment data is also available via the API and the Python and Typescript clients. There are examples in both repositories showing how to demonstrate time-of-day curtailment, demand correlations and more

🔍 Here's an example from last Sunday at midday (21st of September) showing 20% of total demand being curtailed, while the grid was at 75% renewable generation.

📊 On Open Electricity, you can now see: - Real-time curtailed power (MW) for wind & solar - Daily/weekly energy lost (MWh) - When curtailment peaks (during the day, windy nights) Explore on the tracker website: https://t.co/qxPZpB8bVN

💡Curtailment = when wind & solar farms are told to reduce output below what they could generate It happens when: - Too much generation, not enough demand - Transmission lines are full - Grid stability requirements more detail on our docs site: https://t.co/tKRXytqEZm

The platform is still in an early access beta period and subject to changes - but we're open to feedback! You can track v3 deprecation and raise any issues on GitHub at https://t.co/vJOlmO5jOj

We're deprecating the old v3 API. Currently this is running on parallel infrastructure with it's own database, servers etc. We will need to make some form of soft-announcement of the new v4...

We have soft launched a new v4 of the API at https://t.co/sOf87QJ7Dd. The v3 of the old OpenNEM API is deprecated and will be taken offline on the 15th of August 2025. We want to assist anybody still using the old API interfaces to migrate to the new API.
