Nearly 30 organizations sent City Council a letter: don't deny tipped workers the raise they were promised. Chicago's tipped workforce is disproportionately women and workers of color. This isn't just a wage fight. It's an equity fight.

Rent is going up. Groceries are going up. Childcare is going up. Gas is going up. And Chicago City Council's response is to take money out of tipped workers' pockets. The real question: who are they listening to, workers or corporate lobbyists?

Chicago passed One Fair Wage. Restaurant licensing: up. Hospitality jobs: steady. Industry growth: continued. So naturally, City Council wants to freeze tipped wages and block workers' scheduled July 1 raise. Make it make sense.
