Try playing as a blind kensai monk even if you have horrendously bad dice rolls. You don't know what you're missing.

Are you the type of GM that tries to figure out the how and why a creature is in a dungeon or a dungeon was built in that spot... or do you find yourself throwing those notions to the wind because it's a fantasy game with magic and elves and not everything /has/ to make sense?

Casting Magic Missile on the darkness, jokes about every wizard every throwing Fireball first and asking questions later, Rogues stealing anything and everything, Clerics who are fed up with the group's shenanigans and so on and so forth...

Continuing this week's hot topic: It's also interesting to notice how many aspects of fantasy RPG are meme-level pop culture references but other genres don't have it to the same degree. Posting "chaotic good" on a malicious compliance story, jokes about dumb barbarians, etc

Technology is a weird kitbash of new items from offworld that find themselves in use alongside decades-old equipment still running due to copious amounts of duct tape and jury rigging. Not unlike a CD-player adapter into a cassette deck in a car pieced together from three wrecks.

In the skies above bulk freighters silently glide through the black, hauling the spoils of humanity's ever-expanding conquests back to industrial centers and metropolitan expanses paying no mind to what are essentially corn fields and flyover states on a galactic scale.

Boarded up storefronts of prefabricated buildings--brought in by one corporate venture or another when these places looked like they might turn a profit--fall into disrepair along the streets of dying towns and the only places seeing regular traffic are the churches and bars.

Countless worlds once serving as the frontier when humanity spread to the stars now scrape out a meager existence as more promising terraforming locations or richer natural resources shift our focus elsewhere and starship improvements remove the need to resupply at their ports.

A "space western" but instead of seeking to emulate the cowboy shootouts and frontier law of the old west it focuses on the feel of towns in the American southwest that exploded as the country expanded only to be forgotten as interstates arose and bypasses left them behind.
