We'll try to stay close to FIDE online chess rules, so we'll support some standard time controls, and the official ELO ranking math. We may play a little in the future with NFTs as well, and possibly Farcaster integration. Stay tuned!

Choice of language is not the only upside of @cartesiproject , we also have literally millions of packages available at https://t.co/jjxyWS0moW at our disposal, so we'll use the chess.js library, so we don't need to reimplement chess in solidity

@cartesiproject allows the usage of any programming language. We will be using TypeScript, which will allow to write the game code and running it directly in the browser during prototyping phase. When ready and tested, same code will run on the rollup.

Simple betting mechanism will be implemented based on an arbitrary ERC-20 token (still to be decided which one). Winner takes all, minus a rake that goes to devs or to a DAO.

OnChess is a no-frills chess game built as an app-specific rollup application, kickstarted now during @cartesiproject experiment week #BuidlWithCartesi When ready it will be deployed to @base, inheriting low latency (2s block time) and low fees
