Not every champ needs heartbreak first. Some broke through fast:. โข โ08 Celtics โ 1st rd exit to champs.โข โ06 Heat โ 1st rd exit to champs.โข โ07 Cavs โ 15+ yrs w/o series win, then Finals. I still believe Orlando can make the Finals. The Cavs & Celtics series taught them a lot.

Bill doesnโt include this in his title formula, but I believe every title team goes through heartbreak first. Itโs how they learn to win when it matters most. If we donโt win it all next year, I hope itโs after a tough ECF run. The struggle is an important part of the process.

Breaking: Orlando Magic star Paolo Banchero has agreed to a five-year maximum rookie contract extension that could reach $287 million, Mike Miller of LIFT Sports Management tells ESPN. Deal includes a player option; the first for a rookie max since 2021 (Luka Doncic, Trae Young).

Dallas Mavericks player development coach God Shammgod has agreed to join the Orlando Magic as an assistant coach, Andy Miller of Klutch Sports tells ESPN. Shammgod has worked for the Mavericks since 2019 and now receives a larger role in Orlando.

Free agent guard Tyus Jones has agreed to a one-year, $7 million deal with the Orlando Magic, sources tell ESPN. Magic officials negotiated the deal with Jones' agent Kevin Bradbury of LIFT Sports Management, which gives Jones a key role for the East contenders.

The most recent reporting from Jake Fischer is that the expectation is for Orlando to sign Tyus Jones and resign Moe Wagner and Caleb Houstan. There are rumors of Orlando trying to create some extra wiggle room through a trade to make an extra push other than those 3 signings.

Jase Richardson put together one of the most efficient off-ball scoring + perimeter shotmaking seasons in recent memory. 41.2% 3P (7.3 3PA/100 poss) โ 93rd %-ile on spot-up scoring + 95th %-ile on C&S PPP (1.34). Truly an outlier basketball talent.
