On this Tuesday, 67 years ago, Okemo was born. After a long snow drought on Okemo’s debut season, a winter storm dropped 11 inches of snow on Ludlow Mountain, allowing a group of local schoolchildren to ride the two Poma surface lifts on January 31st, 1956. Happy Birthday Okemo.
The time has arrived - that first day of the winter season when the trails are covered in white, stirring the passion deep within all skiers and snowboarders.

Will Novak, received an invitation in error to a bachelor party being thrown at Okemo (the invitation was meant for a New York man with the same name). Rather than dismiss the opportunity, Novak embraced it!

Nor'easter is coming! That's right, we're dropping the ropes on Okemo's big cruiser today. 6 trails/2 lifts. Opening at 8 am with top-to-bottom skiing and riding. Some trail openings may be delayed due to grooming.
Update: We're grateful to our team at Jackson Gore Inn who have been supporting emergency workers & displaced neighbors. Thank you to all who've been working tirelessly to mitigate damage and provide support. Our focus continues to remain on supporting our team & local community.
Our team has been working around the clock and we are excited to announce the opening of the Jackson Gore base this Thursday! This will add plenty of terrain to our existing coverage as well as the Quantum 6 and Coleman Brook Express lifts.

They call it marrying the ends. The Evergreen Summit Express is one step closer to being ready for the 21/22 season. The haul rope cable was spliced today.

Following an initial overview of the storm's aftermath, Okemo received some bumps and bruises, but nothing that cannot be fixed. The team has been swift in our clean up and we are hopeful that we will be able to reopen most of our summer operations as early as late next week.
Our snow forecast has the local jackpot in southern Vermont! Most of this falls early Sunday morning. 8-12” of dry snow on eastern-facing mountain slopes by midday Sunday. Wind, mixing not a problem!
