Most financial advice fails for the same reason systems get breached: Human error. It’s rarely market crashes that keep high earners poor. It’s things like: - Lifestyle inflation - Not negotiating income - Lacking a tax strategy - Panic selling - No system, no threat model

In security, we reduce blast radius. In money, that looks like avoiding irreversible financial commitments early.

Cybersecurity is a career where you’re paid to think about failure. That mindset transfers extremely well to building wealth.

You don’t need to understand the stock market to build wealth. You need to understand: - Automating investments - Not panic selling - Time beats timing That’s it. The rest is noise.

Curious what everyone’s portfolio breakdown looks like? 🤔 I’m in my 30s and keep it simple: - 40% core (VTI / VXUS) - 40% growth (QQQM / VGT) - 20% dividends (SCHD) How are y'all allocating and why?

The fastest way to make good money feel useless is letting every raise quietly upgrade your lifestyle. Progress only shows up when some of the increase never becomes spendable.

Cybersecurity taught me the best finance lesson: Defense in depth. Don’t rely on one control. Don’t rely on one income stream or one bucket for retirement. If one layer fails, I’m still protected. Same principle, different domain.

HSA is the most underrated account: - Tax deductible going in - Tax free growth - Tax free withdrawal for medical expenses It’s the only triple tax-advantaged account that exists.

Elon Musk admitting the X algorithm is “dumb” is either radical transparency… or the most relatable thing he’s ever said.

At 23, I bought Bitcoin at the peak in 2017. It crashed two months later. At 26, I had 70% of my 401k in bonds because I let someone else set it up. At 27, I watched my RSUs drop from $800 to $250. At 31, my net worth hit $600k. 2024: $450k NW 2025: $600k NW 2028: $1M

Most money mistakes aren’t dramatic. They’re quiet defaults repeated every week. That’s why they’re so expensive!

Most people don’t get rich by earning more. They get rich by making fewer irreversible financial decisions early. Debt, lifestyle locks, bad defaults compound faster than returns.

Cybersecurity is one of the most underrated paths to wealth. 4 years. No grad school. Paid to manage real risk. If AI replaces security, we’ll have bigger problems than jobs.

This is obviously rage bait (no exec would tweet this) but unlimited PTO CAN be exploitative at toxic companies. That said, I have unlimited PTO and take 5 weeks per year. How I make it work: - Block time off in my calendar in advance - Give my team notice (not asking

Last year I eliminated our PTO policy. I called it "unlimited." The board loved it. HR loved it. Finance really loved it. Let me explain why Finance loved it. Under the old policy, employees accrued 18 days per year. Unused days carried over. When employees quit, we owed
