The hardest and the most repetitive part of data analytics engineering is .backfilling.Backfilling is a concept of rerunning pipelines through past period to added new features(fields). We have to do this every time new fields happens. It is annoying, but it’s part of the job. 🥲.

Do you like presentation? .Yes:Data/Product/marketing analyst✔️.No: Backend Data/Analytics Engineering✔️. You will have to present a lot when you are an analyst. Insights through stories etc. For Data/Analytics engineers it is more like a black and white thing. Done or not Done.

There come the question: How do I choose which one is mine? .🤔.

Just like there is frontend, and backend developers. We also have same for Data. Frontend data guys are Data analyst:.They build dashboard & tell stories with data. Backend Data Guys: Build d ETL infrastructure behind d data, working closer with the source to add new data points.

The bar-chat on the top indicated the time of run, it show the pipeline got optimal at some point then it started increasing but still not at previous levels. At some point in Aug 22 it shows empty .It signifies an on going backfill. Perhaps new feature added around end of July.

Yesterday, I joined Google’s AI for BI Innovation road map n I was quite impressed abt how integrated AI is to looker. They introduced:.-Gemini powered assistant.-CI/CD.-Data dictionary support .-Reports. etc.Google’s Looker is really proving it is a leader in visual analytics.

You don’t always need a new laptop, You just need to close all the 899 unused tabs and windows opened for one year. And finally restart your laptop. 💻.

The believe issue here is the pay!.Having mid level skills expectation for a job with entry level salary figures, will make no skill Nigerian to apply. Meanwhile check those CVs, highlight the potential candidates, bet on them and like someone did for us.
