The problem for a lot of our goal setting which causes poor progress... We demand better FOR ourselves, but we don't demand better FROM ourselves It starts within

Nutritionists are interpreters We interpret the research for athletes so it becomes actionable We also interpret what the athletes want from what they say (not always the same thing) and find the best solution for the individual Athletes communicate in their language not yours

It’s become easier to search for what’s best in the moment than to zoom out and look at the best path beyond that Work hard to shine brightly for a long time not to blow up and then disappear Be a candle in a world full of fireworks 🕯️

Anyone can replicate a hack, but your hard work and the lessons from it are unique to you They can’t be taken away If you want consistency and long term success, then here’s the hack… You need to be consistent in your hard work for the long term

Easy come, Easy go In a world where the emphasis is on the latest hack, trend, craze or fad; the value of hard work and consistency is becoming unfashionable Take pride in your work and the process.

Or in other words, embrace your struggles because you’ll come back better and stronger from them and don’t become complacent during your successes, nothing is permanent.

I’m optimistic enough to embrace the beauty in my journey, but experienced enough to understand the road may have changed since I walked down it so guide others with both of these thoughts in mind. Beauty in imperfection, impermanence of success

That’s why I am able to guide my clients. Not through perfection. But through experience and the resilience that comes with it.

I think this is key in connecting with my clients but people in general. Yes, I may know more than you in this area. But I’m not perfect. And I don’t claim to be I’ve walked this road before and experienced where it’s potholes are or where the best place to stop for a rest is

We do something that works for us then we gain an understanding of why it works and the techniques to manipulate the outcome It got me thinking about my role as a nutritionist Another thing about Kintsugi is embracing the beauty in your imperfection like many songs have told us

It’s all about embracing the resilience of things and that we can repair things and make them better. Naturally, this got me thinking about my many injuries. I’ve been unknowingly practicing Kintsugi for a very long time. Sometimes that’s how it goes.

Kintsugi 🇯🇵⭐️ Look at this bowl. What’s the first thing you noticed about it? Probably the gold? Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending things and in particular pottery by typically piecing it back together with gold.

Than the same scenario if they already feel smothered and overloaded with information. Allow freedom within your structure and the picture becomes more beautiful than you could ever have created alone.

The player that is making their own decisions will likely ask for feedback or be more receptive to suggestions for improvement in the same way that players on the pitch with autonomy are more likely to receive feedback during breaks in play positively

Players love to feel in control. Create opportunities for choice. Develop skills and educate on outcomes. Remind them of the purpose of their actions. But ultimately, give a good framework and get out of the way.

Decision making. As support staff and me in particular as a nutritionist, I believe it's a must to encourage the same skill of decision making in the unfamiliar setting of nutrition. The aim is to develop more autonomy.

Yes of course. From teammates on the pitch, coaches during countless times this situation has occurred by design or otherwise during sessions and from past experience. It's safe to say they're somewhat of an expert in this area. The main component of their expertise is what?

Footballers are raised in a culture and setting that encourages autonomy and decisiveness within a structure. An example is a world class central midfielder deciding which pass is best and most appropriate in a situation. Will the player have had help making this decision? 🧵
