Tableturf Battle will likely gain online play in an update.
The netcode appears to have already been implemented, and online-related text was added in 1.1.0.
(Right now, battling someone in the Plaza makes you fight an AI with their cards, not the actual person.)

Also, some text in the code suggests that to play Tableturf Battle online, you will need to “sit down” at one of the tables in the lobby. (Probably the ones on the second floor.)

Is it not already implemented in The Shoal? I remember seeing UI for it but it just said to update my game (1.0)

It is! Nintendo confirmed to us a few weeks ago that it's getting online with a future update. Nice to see it may be on the sooner end!

Do you know if they plan to release an update to fix the servers? I really wanna get the game but hearing that practically everyone is having connection issues is putting me off

I love tableturf but without online it’s getting boring, glad this is confirmed. I hope they continue to add to it afterwards and don’t neglect it cause it’s not super popular.

There are unused tables in both the Lobby and the Shoal, so those will probably be how you do online TT. Not sure why it’s not there on release but w/e it’s cool

Great. Im falling in love with it, addicted to it. Learn every rule, it's actually pretty clever. Also, PLEASE let the upstairs lounge in Lobby be the place where we meet to play this. And let us play while waiting for a match to start!
